Emergo Group, an Austin-based consulting firm that assists medical device manufacturers with regulatory compliance worldwide, was honored as Austin’s top Export Service Provider at a May 19 black tie event at The Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin.
The Austin Chamber of Commerce, International Hospitality Council of Austin, City of Austin and the State of Texas hosted the event to highlight and promote the importance of international trade in Austin.
“We are certainly honored to have received this award,” notes Rene van de Zande, President and CEO of Emergo Group. “We’ve been focused on helping our clients access established and emerging international markets since our founding in 1997. With a strong pool of talent, local government support and entrepreneurial spirit, Austin has provided an excellent base from which to grow our business internationally.”
Texas Secretary of State Hope Andrade and Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell spoke at the event, highlighting Austin’s international activities during World Trade Week – an annual nationwide celebration of international trade.
The US Department of Commerce also awarded Emergo Group a “Certificate of Appreciation for Achievement in Trade” for assisting more than 1,000 US based companies exporting their medical devices overseas.
