Winvale will resell Socialtext's industry-leading enterprise social networking platform under the GSA Schedule, where government organizations can purchase their products and services

Socialtext announced today that it has partnered with Winvale, a leading reseller of technology solutions to government agencies. Under the partnership, Winvale will resell Socialtext's industry-leading enterprise social networking platform under the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) schedule, where government organizations can purchase products and services for discounted prices. As a software as a service company, Socialtext delivers easy-to-use applications that makes government business processes more flexible and enhances employee collaboration.

“We’re proud to be partnered up with Socialtext for the federal marketplace,” said David Sonde, Winvale Managing Partner, “They’re a forward looking company with a vision on breaking down barriers.”

“Government agencies are utilizing enterprise social networking to eliminate knowledge silos and share information across boundaries,” says Eugene Lee, Socialtext CEO. “This partnership with Winvale will help us deliver Socialtext into more government organizations looking to transform their internal processes and knowledge sharing to serve their constituents more efficiently.”
The partnership builds on Socialtext's success in the government sector. Socialtext has customers from local, state, federal and foreign government entities. Examples include:

  •     The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) and The Oak Ridge National Labs (Marines) both utilize a Socialtext appliance to provide a collaborative intranet for their employees.
  •     The Canadian Food and Inspection Agency, South Australia Dept of the Premier & Cabinet, Kane County Illinois and others have embraced Socialtext as their organizational intranet, making it easy for employees to share information across departments and flexibly modify their business processes.

Many of these government customers prefer Socialtext's on-premises, SaaS appliance, which brings these social applications behind the firewall to meet their stringent security requirements. Socialtext is also available as a VMware image, which can be installed in an agency’s virtualization environment or private cloud.
