EVN Solutions today announced that The MIT Press has selected its services for conversion from print-ready PDF to XML for its books and journals.

EVN Solutions – developers of the MarkLogic Server Module for Drupal and MarkLogic Search and Results Module for Drupal – today announced that The MIT Press has selected its services for conversion from print-ready PDF to XML for its books and journals.

“EVN’s expertise in XML and history of successful conversion projects made us comfortable entrusting them with this important project,” said Rebecca Schrader, Associate Director, MIT Press. “Leveraging EVN for conversion of content to populate CogNet made this a turnkey solution for us. We are delighted to have all of our cognitive science journal and book content in NLM and view it as part of our content management and distribution initiatives for today and the future.”

EVN is building a Drupal based implementation of MIT Press’ CogNet digital research service using its MarkLogic Sever Module for Drupal to pull content directly from MIT Press’ Mark Logic Server. Once converted to NLM XML and on the MarkLogic Sever, MIT Press’ content will be truly agile – leveraging all the great features of MarkLogic Server for Drupal and custom application deployment.

“We are excited to take on this prestigious project” said Kit Webster, Senior Partner and Operating Practice Partner with EVN Solutions. “MIT Press’ cognitive science content is rich, complex and in high demand. This conversion of books and journals into XML format will enable MIT Press to continue its strategic leadership by creating content that can be easily discovered and repurposed.”

EVN Solutions will be present at Book Expo America at the PubWest Booth #3464 Tuesday, May 24th through Thursday, May 26th at the Javitts Center in New York City.
