Paramus, NJ (PRWEB) May 27, 2011
Charles Grodin, star of a score of films, including the “Beethoven” series, author of seven books and radio commentator, will share his life and very humorous experiences in a performance to benefit Bergen County’s Project Literacy and his Lend A Hand Foundation. He will be available for phone interviews prior to June 16th and before his performance on June 16. Please contact: Marilyn Rosica, 201-843-5600 to set an interview.
Mr. Grodin formed the non-profit Lend a Hand Foundation to help people unjustifiably incarcerated. (See recent article in May/June 2011 issue AARP Magazine and NYDailyNews.com/News/2010/Justice). Because of Grodin’s advocacy for the incarcerated, the Rockefeller Drug Laws were reformed, for which former Governor Pataki credits him. Grodin has never been an advocate for clemency that has failed.
Project Literacy, located in Hackensack, has been helping adult non-readers gain reading and ESL skills through free, one-on-one tutoring since 1987. Visit http://www.project-literacy.org.
Suggested tax deductible donation is $40.00. All proceeds will be shared by both non-profit organizations. For tickets, buy online at eventbrite.com/event/1590426007 or call 201-447-7488.
Charles Grodin’s appearance is sponsored by Bergen Community College School of Continuing Education and Rosica Public Relations of Paramus.
