AuthorHouse, the leading provider of self-publishing and book marketing services for authors, is pleased to announce that the winner of the Book2Screen Twitter Contest is Kevin Armes of Cornwall, England. The second- and third-place winners are Jason Melby and Shanell Keys respectively.
Grand-prize winner Armes will receive a free Hollywood Connection book publishing package, including a fully equipped book marketing kit, exclusive script coverage which is presented to film and television executives, 60 free book copies, a featured spot on the AuthorHouse website and additional publishing, design and marketing services. Melby and Keys will receive 50 percent and 25 percent off any AuthorHouse publishing package, respectively.
The Book2Screen Twitter Contest asked authors to send a tweet with hash tag “Book2Screen” and pitch why their book would shine on screen. Authors put their creativity to the test to describe their book in 140 characters or less.
“A Young Adult adventure series following a lottery millionaire boy’s global humanitarian quest to help children in need.” – @kevinarmes, First-place winner Kevin Armes
“On a distant planet, a robot seeks out his creator but finds itself in a civil war in a city where technology is forbidden.” – @strvngartst, Second-place winner Jason Melby
“Memory loss, captivating love story between a man with amnesia and his nurse. Romance, suspense, & mystery make this story great!” – @shanelllweber, Third-place winner Shanell Keys
Marcus Chait, the Director of Film and New Media at AuthorHouse’s parent company Author Solutions, Inc., looked for an original and commercially viable concept when judging the entries. “Kevin Armes is to be commended for presenting such a concept in a clear and concise way,” says Chait. “Congratulations to all of the contestants for submitting such unique and well-thought-out pitches.”
