Air Critical Care LLC, of Punta Gorda, Florida one of the leading air ambulance and medical flight companies in the USA today; have recently announced that they are extending their first class service to include a new wheelchair and stretcher van service for Florida.

The President of Air Critical Care, Michael Peat, was first to announce this new venture and he expects the first units to arrive by this summer and expansion plans are in place to start servicing all of south Florida by next year. The new service will be marketed as “Medlink” and the same high standard of service can be expected that people have become accustomed to from Air Critical Care.

The fleet of vehicles will be comprised of 2011 Ford Econoline vans that are specially configured to the ADA standards. The vans will be equipped with lifesaving AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) units, and staff that are trained to use this special equipment. Michael Peat said, "There has been no expense spared when it comes to patient comfort as anybody riding in the vehicles will be able to recline or sit.

This fleet of ground vehicles from the air ambulance service can be mobilized to transport a passenger for a doctor’s appointment or to transfer a patient from one medical facility to another and there is also the option for patients to opt for a van that will be equipped to go a long distance when the customer is stable and has a preference for ground medical transport over the air ambulance service.

This new service will be ideal for a number of different types of patients including those suffering from Alzheimer’s, cancer, stroke, arthritis or general weakness.

In the fast paced world of the air medical business it’s very refreshing to see one of the major players in the industry like Air Critical Care putting the customer first and catering to those clients that would rather not fly, but considering the companies track record for top drawer customer service and a personal touch that has touched the heart of many a client, it’s right on par for what people have come to expect from this air ambulance company.
