The Olive Press, California Extra Virgin Olive Oil Producer, has been Awarded Three Gold Medals including Prestige Gold at the TerraOlivo International Competition

The Olive Press had an impressive showing at the TerraOlivo 2011 International Olive Oil Competition winning 1 Prestige Gold Medal and 2 Gold Medals for their extra virgin olive oils. The Olive Press is America’s most highly awarded producer of extra virgin olive oil.

The Olive Press is pleased to announce they received international gold medal recognition for three of their extra virgin olive oils at the TerraOlivo 2011 International Olive Oil Competition held last week in Jerusalem, further establishing The Olive Press as America’s leader in the production of award-winning extra virgin olive oil.

TerraOlivo medals were chosen from 302 entries produced in 19 countries. The oils were judged by certified panels made up of judges from five countries: Israel, Spain, Italy, Argentina and the U.S. The impressive Prestige Gold Medal was awarded to The Olive Press Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil, an award favorite, winning 14 medals since 2006 and a favorite of co-owner and master olive oil maker Deborah Rogers. “When we were pressing the Arbequina the aroma was glorious, so green and grassy. I knew we had something special, and when I tasted the oil it was as wonderful as I had anticipated”. Deborah is also a trained member of the UCCE Research Taste Panel and expertly scrutinizes every olive oil The Olive Press produces.

In addition to the Prestige Gold Medal, The Olive Press Ascolano and Koroneiki Extra Virgin Olive Oils both took home Gold Medals. These extra virgin olive oils have accumulated their share of awards as well, totaling 19 since 2006. “Our obsession with quality is evident in all our products, and it’s the same attention to detail that gives us the right to boast” says Deborah. “Our oils are world-class and guaranteed fresh”. The total medals won for The Olive Press to date are 286.
