GridGain Delivers Integrated Enterprise Compute and Data Grid Platform for High Performance Cloud Applications

GridGain has seen a rapid growth in the last several quarters with number of new clients coming onboard, as well as formation of Advisory Board with some of the key industry leaders. Today our software starts every 10 seconds around the globe.

GridGain Systems announces today the release of the next version of its High Performance Cloud Application platform for Java and Scala that uniquely integrates Compute and Data Grid technologies into one cohesive product.

GridGain platform seamlessly combines Java-based core product with native support for Scala programming language. This provides enterprises with a prudent and risk-averse path to use either Java-based product or upgrade to modernized Scala technology ecosystem.

GridGain gives enterprises two critical advantages in building high performance cloud applications:

  • Fully integrated Compute and Data Grid platform provides one-stop solution for extreme computing and data scalability - two critical elements for distributed applications.
  • Native Java and Scala support provides companies with “set-your-own-pace” approach to modernized Scala development by allowing to reuse the existing Java skill set, frameworks and DevOps/PaaS solutions.

Says GridGain founder and CEO Nikita Ivanov: “In the last 12 months we’ve seen a substantial growth in Scala interest among traditional Java-based enterprises that are building modern high performance systems in financial, insurance and online gaming industries. Apart from well publicized examples of Scala adopters like Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare - there is a rapidly growing number of companies that are trying to realize benefits of Scala-based development - but just can’t do it in a big-bang approach. With GridGain they are getting two key technologies - Enterprise Compute and Data Grids - that are critical for high performance systems, and they get to set their own pace if they decide to adopt and migrate to Scala environment”.

The company’s October 2010 launch of GridGain 3.0 broke new ground in the cloud middleware space by combining state-of-the art compute grid and data grid technology in one, integrated product, supported by an exclusive zero deployment technology for radically simplified auto-scaling on any managed infrastructure.

“GridGain has seen a rapid growth in the last several quarters with number of new clients coming onboard, as well as formation of Advisory Board with some of the key industry leaders. GridGain continues its growth and today our software starts every 10 seconds around the globe.”, Ivanov said.

GridGain 3.0 is available in both free open source community and commercial enterprise editions, supports all major operating systems and requires Java 6 and Scala 2.9 or later. GridGain Systems provides a full spectrum of services for GridGain software including training, support and consulting.
