With access to street-level traffic conditions across North America, Beat the Traffic users now have all the information they need to plan out a successful, stress-free trip from start to end – saving an even greater degree of time, fuel and frustration.

Beat the Traffic®, a leading provider of real-time traffic information for mobile devices, has released the beta version of its new live traffic maps that include real-time traffic conditions for surface streets, not only freeways and main thoroughfares – just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.

Available at no cost through the Beat the Traffic website and Android mobile devices, the new maps feature a cleaner, unfettered presentation of real-time traffic details and with incident details, a location search tool, and live traffic cameras. Live maps available on the Beat the Traffic website include the additional features of real-time traffic speeds and a new mini-map tool for close-up views of road conditions.

With the addition of surface street details, the new maps allow users to accurately plan their travel with even greater detail than ever before. After visiting the Beat the Traffic website at home, travelers can continue to retrieve up-to-the-minute traffic condition updates on their mobile devices while on the road, so they can adjust their routes appropriately. Available in over 100 major cities in the U.S. and Canada, the new maps also include simpler, user-friendly navigation tools including buttons for travel times and live camera views.

“Providing detailed traffic data for freeways, highways and major thoroughfares is very useful, but for many travelers, this information does not always tell the whole story,” said Beat the Traffic President & CEO Andre Gueziec. “With access to street-level traffic conditions across North America, Beat the Traffic users now have all the information they need to plan out a successful, stress-free trip from beginning to end – saving an even greater degree of time, fuel and frustration. It’s just another example of our commitment to deliver the richest and most efficient traffic data possible.”
