Nick Groom, the Managing Director and founder of gdz said, “ we are excited to have attracted somebody of Alistair’s experience and network, I think this demonstrates our seriousness in re-inventing the way UK Business thinks about corporate events”.

Alistair said; "I am delighted to be the new Chairman at this time and believe that gdz is uniquely placed to help organisations become far more astute in the way that they use their hospitality budget; especially following the deepest recession for a generation and with the forthcoming Bribery Act on its way".

Nick Groom - Managing Director of gdz went on to say that, "Up to an estimated £2bn annually is spent by UK businesses on corporate hospitality, varying from opera to rugby to fine dining and F1. Research conducted by gdz has shown that up to 80% of this amount can be wasted through inefficiencies and a lack of focus and that there is considerable scope to improve. In particular, alignment with the sales and marketing strategy, procurement of the right events at the right prices, targeting and powerfully engaging key customers from the beginning of the process and evaluating the return on investment achieved, as well as having good controls in place for compliance with the Bribery Act.

Alistair then said, "Until now there has been a significant gap in the market for a business which can help organisations deliver these benefits and I am therefore delighted to have become the Chairman of gdz event analysts ( http://www.gdzeventanalysts.com ), an exciting organisation which aims to be the market leader in this area".
