IADT-Las Vegas Announces New Information Technology Degree Programs

Students who are interested in studying information technology can take advantage of new program offerings at IADT-Las Vegas. In April 2011 the school added two new degree programs: an Associate of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

Students pursuing their associate’s or bachelor’s degree in IT can learn the fundamentals of installing and managing information systems, as well as intranets and extranets used by organizations of all different sizes and scopes.

The new associate’s and bachelor’s Information Technology degree programs at IADT-Las Vegas feature hands-on learning opportunities that allow students to become familiar with today’s wide range of networking technology. The programs offer instruction in web programming, database design and development, PC troubleshooting and virus detection.

Students pursuing their associate’s or bachelor’s degree in IT can learn the fundamentals of installing and managing information systems, as well as intranets and extranets used by organizations of all different sizes and scopes.

The Associate of Science in Information Technology degree program at IADT-Las Vegas offers a well-rounded foundation in basic areas of IT. Students can learn how to configure and administer networks within a Windows environment and keep a company’s internal information secure. Students will also have the opportunity to understand networking technology for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), as well as programming concepts. Students who obtain their AS in Information Technology should have the knowledge and skills needed to pursue entry-level career opportunities in the field of information technology.

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree program at IADT-Las Vegas can help students gain a solid understanding of computer and small network installation and administration. Whether it’s learning routing and switching technologies, or the Linux operating system, this bachelor-level program can help students gain industry-current knowledge and skills. The program exposes students to elements of programming and scripting as well as the security and management skills necessary to apply these technologies to business and other organizations.

The associate’s and bachelor’s Information Technology degree programs at IADT-Las Vegas combine engaging classroom instruction with hands-on electronic training to give students a well-rounded, industry-relevant educational experience.
