“TPN has become an online household name throughout the metro Atlanta area since inception” states Bobby M. Peoples Sr., CEO of The Peoples Network. Launched in 2009, TPN has cultivated into an online resource for local actors and actresses seeking opportunities to grow their portfolio. “We decided to challenge ourselves by engaging local viewers through social media and soon developed a fan base in our own backyard” Bobby continues. MPR’s first season launched on Comcast on-demand, Get Local ATL in 2009 followed by a second season launch in 2010; TPN immediately started production of MPR season three. “The support and dedication we received from our viewers and fans played a fundamental part in MPR’s web-series launch on Comcast Get Local ATL for a third season in 2011” Bobby adds.
Bobby and Renee are viewed as veterans in managing and marketing distribution of TPN’s productions. For Thy Love, a full feature film about a young woman’s search for love, written and produced by Bobby M. Peoples, Sr., gained a distribution deal with Image Entertainment, an integrated home entertainment company. Following the success of MPR on Comcast Get Local ATL, Bobby and Renee continued to seek distribution and successfully launched MPR as a half-hour series on Black Broadcasting Network, an urban cable channel available on Verizon FiOS TV and WOW Networks VOD platform. “Our goal was to provide as much exposure as possible for the cast of MPR” states Renee Peoples, President of TPN. “The dedication we receive from our talented cast members and overwhelming response from our viewers allowed for the success of MPR for three seasons” says Renee.
The Peoples Network are slated to produce a new web-series, Love, Atlanta Style -- a drama series following the lives of four intricate and particularly distinct women as they work through domestic struggles, family life and set-backs, while displaying a seemingly so-called perfect life. Pre-production for the new web-series begins mid June. “We completed the script for Love, Atlanta Style in the early part of April and casted each role by mid May” says Bobby. “With an all new talented cast, TPN is excited to embark on a new journey, providing our viewers with compelling entertainment that addresses everyday life situations” adds Renee.
With the successful distribution of MPR, a feature film and the development of Love, Atlanta Style, TPN’s new web-series, Bobby and Renee Peoples have spread their wings even further. Founders of http://www.TPNKIDZ.com, a program created to educate youth with the significance of entrepreneurship in filmmaking; http://www.TPNKIDZ.com offers classes for our youth to explore filmmaking in an environment of their own peers. “This is just the beginning to the start of a new venture for TPN” says Renee. “There is a world of opportunity for our youth and we want to be instrumental in the development of creative minds” adds Bobby.
