Lakeshore Express Aviation, along with its Direct Air Carrier, Pentastar Aviation Charter, Inc., is proud to announce the launch of direct air service connecting Chicago’s Midway Airport with Pellston Regional Airport in Northern Michigan. Lakeshore Express is the exclusive public charter operator offering direct, routine service between Chicago and the Little Traverse Bay region of Michigan.
Lakeshore’s service offers individuals the ability to cut five hours off of each leg of their trip, as compared to driving. Lakeshore Express will operate scheduled flights year round, allowing customers the ability to take advantage of Northern Michigan’s acclaimed beaches, golf courses, lakes, ski facilities, snowmobile trails, and more.
The launch of Lakeshore Express coincides with a ramp up in the state of Michigan’s Pure Michigan tourism campaign. Lakeshore Express hopes to capitalize on one of Pure Michigan’s major objectives, capturing out-of-state tourists. The company feels confident it can achieve this objective thanks to the support of lodging, hospitality, and entertainment companies in the Little Traverse Bay region. Lakeshore has been deliberate in its effort to focus its service on the needs of these strategic partners.
Lakeshore Express’ model represents a hybrid of two traditional flight options. Unlike commercial airfare, Lakeshore Express offers scheduled service from private terminals at major airports. Private terminals are usually reserved for expensive charter options or private aircraft. Lakeshore Express will expand the use of private terminals to a larger audience, while maintaining the competitive prices usually found on commercial carriers.
For this effort Lakeshore Express is working with Pentastar Aviation Charter, Inc. Pentastar is one of the country’s premiere aviation companies with over 45 years of industry experience. In addition to working with Lakeshore Express, Pentastar offers aircraft management, maintenance, avionics and other aviation related services.
