Southlake Resources Group begins development of Ness County, Kansas drilling program. Field prospects could yield greater than 500,000 barrels of oil.

This gives us a great opportunity to produce north of 100,000 barrels of oil from this well.

Southlake Resources Group, an independent oil and gas producer based in Dallas, Texas has announced it has commenced drilling operations on the SRG-Ransom #1 well in Ness County Kansas.

The Ransom prospect is a shallow 5,000 ft oil prospect located in the heart of the rich central Kansas uplift.

According to the company, the proposed location will test for several potential pay zones within the Fort Scott and Warsaw Limestone formations. The location is extremely attractive due to the structural separation and isochron thinning identified through the interpretation of the 3-D seismic technology.

Southlake Resources Group President Cody M. Winters said “the seismic data indicates this prospect is in a far superior location to the proven productive wells in the area. With that being the case this gives us a great opportunity to produce north of 100,000 barrels of oil from this well.” The company has several similar prospect locations and anticipates drilling 5-10 more wells in Ness County by the end of the year.
