The 2011 AFA Leaders Conference will be held November 3-6 in Kansas City, Mo. The Conference provides college men and women pursuing agricultural degrees with personal and professional development opportunities. Students from more than 30 states and 70 colleges and universities attend the conference annually. Participating students have the opportunity to network on a 3-1 ratio with the more than 100 industry leaders who facilitate Conference workshops, training and discussion sessions. Additionally, delegates participate in the AFA Opportunity Fair, which connects students to human resource representatives from over 50 agricultural organizations.

“My experiences with AFA have helped me broaden my horizons and find the confidence to launch my career,” said Katie Dogs, former AFA participant and assistant account executive at Osborn and Barr. “My first contact with my current employer was the AFA Leaders Conference, where I not only had the opportunity to meet the organization’s recruiters at the Opportunity Fair, but I also was able to meet the company CEO at the Leader in Agriculture Award Dinner. Had I not been involved with AFA, I would not have had access to the excellent opportunities that led me to full-time employment or the courage to take a position so far away from my home state of Wisconsin.”

Sponsorship to the AFA Leaders Conference includes program registration and materials, lodging and meals throughout the conference. Travel is not included as a part of this sponsorship. Sponsorship applications and further information about AFA Leaders Conference can be found by visiting http://www.agfuture.org/leadersconference.
