Global Executive Leader Joins Henley-Putnam University's Board of Directors

Karen P. Tandy, Former DOJ and DEA Executive, Brings Both Government Agency and Corporate Experience to Henley-Putnam Board

Henley-Putnam University is proud to announce the appointment of public affairs specialist Karen P. Tandy to its board of directors.

Ms. Tandy serves as the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at Motorola, Inc. where she oversees corporate compliance and governance in more than 70 countries. Ms. Tandy serves as Motorola's top public policy spokesperson on issues related to global telecom policy, trade, regulation, spectrum allocation, and country relations.

Previously she was head of the Drug Enforcement Administration, an agency of the United States Department of Justice. She was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on July 31, 2003. She was the first female head of the DEA.

Prior to becoming DEA Administrator, Tandy was Associate Deputy Attorney General and Director of the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF). In her capacity as Associate Deputy Attorney General, she was responsible for oversight of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the National Drug Intelligence Center, as well as responsible for developing national drug enforcement policy and strategies.

Among the numerous awards and commendations, Ms. Tandy holds the Department of Justice Award for Extraordinary Achievement.
