Web-based code editor makes programming easier and comes under new management.

SproutBox "home-sprout" today announced its partnership with entrepreneurs Hillary and DG Elmore to launch a new web-based, collaborative code editor, Squad. Using a web-based interface, Squad streamlines editing, reading and working on code, giving multiple programmers the ability to work on and discuss code in real time. Hillary Elmore will act as Code Together’s chief executive officer, while DG will function as an active adviser to launch the product later this summer.

“Squad will revolutionize collaborative code editing,” said Hillary Elmore, chief executive officer of Code Together. “We’re thrilled to partner with SproutBox to make the application easily available to programmers and give them the tools they need to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.”

Although the partnership between Code Together and the Elmores is a new venture, the Elmores are anything but new to SproutBox or the programming industry. Hillary Elmore served as SproutBox's first intern while completing her master's degree in Human Computer Interaction Design at Indiana University's School of Informatics and Computer Science. After receiving her degree, Hillary took a position in User Experience Design at Veer West, another Bloomington startup. There she implemented crucial usability enhancements to FormAssembly.com and established customer service and user experience as top priorities for the business. As a third-generation entrepreneur and self-proclaimed "geek," Hillary is excited about the challenge of transforming Squad into a burgeoning business and is looking forward to optimizing the efficiency of collaborative programming.

DG Elmore brings over twenty-five years of entrepreneurial experience, as well as a deep intimacy with the software industry. Among other ventures, DG is chairman and part owner of Cornerstone Information Systems, a market leader is software that automates costly manual aspects of reservation management. He is also chairman and part owner of a number of other businesses under the Elmore Companies’ umbrella. DG's vast experience with early-stage businesses will afford invaluable advice and guidance as Squad grows.

Code Together will work closely with members from SproutBox, including founder Mike Trotzke, to launch the product later this summer. To keep an eye on their progress, follow @squadedit or head to https://squadedit.com for more information.
