Event to raise urgently needed dollars for pancreatic cancer research

Joining Technologies, Inc., an innovator in industrial laser applications, announces that it will be sponsoring the first 50 people who sign up through its website to walk in the Sunrise 18-Hole Stroll, an early morning walk at TPC River Highlands, in Cromwell, CT, during the Travelers Championship. All net proceeds will benefit The Lustgarten Foundation, the nation’s largest private foundation dedicated solely to funding pancreatic cancer research.

Held on June 26, 2011 at 7:30 A.M., The Sunrise 18-Hole Stroll aims to raise money and awareness for much-needed research for pancreatic cancer, America’s fourth-leading cause of cancer deaths. Joining Technologies will pay half the $50 admission fee for the first 50 walkers who sign up to attend the event. To receive the $25 subsidy, walkers must contact Alicia Fortin via email at afortin(at)joiningtech(dot)com. The following information should be present in your message: NAME, ADDRESS, TELEPHONE # and t-shirt size. By providing this information you will be registered for the event. Please send your portion of the registration to “Travelers Championship” which can be mailed to: J.H Cohn LLP, 180 Glastonbury Blvd., Glastonbury, CT 06033. Also, include “18 Hole Stroll” and JTeam on the Memo Line.

Michael Francoeur, founder and CEO of Joining Technologies, has been an event supporter for several years and developed the sponsorship program to help raise awareness for the cause and encourage participation. In addition to a personal donation, Francoeur said Joining Technologies is pleased to be able to contribute for each walker who joins “the JTeam.”

“The Sunrise 18-Hole Stroll is a fun event, where participants enjoy some of golf’s greatest players and help raise awareness and money to fund pancreatic cancer research efforts,” said Francoeur. “I encourage everyone to join the JTeam and come out for this worthy cause.”

The registration fee also includes an entrance pass to the tournament, a continental breakfast at the tournament’s Pro-Am tent, and a complimentary shirt. Participants are asked to wear the color purple, which is now being used as a symbol of the fight against pancreatic cancer.
