The problem with calorie trackers is that they don’t help you determine how much of a given food to enter. This is where the Figwee Portion Explorer app makes things easy.

Density Limit LLC today announced the Figwee Portion Explorer app for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, a first in interactive portion and nutrition visualization.
The app incorporates animations comprised of more than 28,000 photos of meticulously weighed food portions.
Using the app is really simple. People just type a few letters to search, browse photos of matching foods, then tap to select the food they want to explore. Users then tap and drag a slider to adjust the portion shown on the plate, in the bowl, or in the glass, and Figwee animates the photos and updates the nutrition information on the fly.
Figwee Portion Explorer visually answers question like: How many calories are in a “yea high mound” of pasta? What does “4.0 ounces” of hamburger look like? How many “servings” are in the bowl of cereal I eat every day?
While not itself a calorie counter, nutrition tracker, or a weight loss system, Figwee Portion Explorer makes all of these more effective. Figwee helps people get the most out of their existing weight loss program through greater simplicity, increased accuracy, and portion awareness.
Creator John Gobel states: “Anyone who is on a weight loss program needs to accurately assess the amount of food eaten. The problem with calorie trackers is that they don’t help you determine how much of a given food to enter. This is where the Figwee Portion Explorer app makes things easy.”
Figwee Portion Explorer is a universal app for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, supports both portrait and landscape orientations, and requires either a 3G or WiFi network connection.
The Figwee Portion Explorer app is available now for $1.99 USD from Apple’s App Store.
