Naperville, IL (PRWEB) June 02, 2011
Naperville copywriter Elizabeth Carter has been recognized twice in the 2011 Hermes Creative Awards Competition, earning a Gold Award for her work on a brochure for the non-profit theater group Fair Lady Productions and an Honorable Mention for the website of The Social Network, a social club for Chicago-area professionals. Carter has previously won Gold Awards in the 2010 Hermes competition as well.
The brochure for Fair Lady Productions establishes the non-profit as a leader in the Naperville cultural community. The organization runs two children’s theater groups – Kidz Kabaret, which will introduce the theater to nearly 500 area youths this year, and Center Stage Players, which will help approximately 200 more advanced young actors refine their skills and prepare for future acting careers. Additionally, the organization boasts Center Stage Theater, a 168-seat performance venue that is the area’s newest cultural arts center. Carter worked with Iris Beckers of iBeckers Graphic Design and FLP Executive Director Kandiss Hernandez to produce the brochure.
The website for The Social Network, which received an Honorable Mention, is geared to Chicago-area singles who are interested in meeting other like-minded people via fun and friendly monthly group activities. The site was written with a warm, engaging style to welcome readers and to encourage them to get involved with the incredible opportunities the group has to offer. Carter worked with Steve Haller of Online Transition and The Social Network president Cheryl Prosen-Shumake to develop the site.
The Hermes Creative Awards celebrates outstanding work in the design and development of creative marketing materials. The awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). This year’s competition drew over 4,400 entries from advertising agencies, public relations firms, marketing firms and freelance professionals across the United States and around the globe.
“It’s always about the customer,” Carter said. “When developing marketing materials, you have to remember that your customers are only concerned with one thing: ‘What’s in it for me?’ The most effective marketing makes that crystal clear, right from the start. And that’s why choosing the right words in your marketing is so important.”
