Former Tatum Managing Partner Will Help Lead C-Suite Advisory Firm as it Continues to Offer Clients Substantive Financial Counsel and Solutions

The Horwitz Taylor Group (HT), which provides financial leadership, strategic and advisory services to the C-Suite, announced today that Chuck Gottschalk will join the firm as one of its three Managing Partners, along with Karla Horwitz and Meg Taylor.

Gottschalk is a former Managing Partner at Tatum, a national executive services firm, where he launched and led its Pacific Northwest practice from start-up to 50 professionals over a seven-year period with offices in Seattle and Portland.

As part of this significant senior-level transformation, HT will now be known as HTG – Horwitz Taylor Gottschalk. (

“Our firm has stood shoulder to shoulder with our clients, bringing experience and strategic and financial insight to the table,” says Karla Horwitz, co-founder of HT. “Now, with Chuck as part of our leadership team, we are deeper, stronger and much wiser. Clients will immediately benefit in many pragmatic and profound ways.”

Adds Meg Taylor, co-founder of HT: “Chuck has assisted so many businesses, ranging from venture capital and private equity portfolio companies to large private and publicly-traded firms. He offers solid and substantial counsel, and never fails to solve client problems in the most beneficial way possible. Best of all, he enriches client relationships each and every day with his thinking and understanding. We’re fortunate to have him on our team.”

Horwitz and Taylor – each a former Partner at Tatum – have spent 25 years helping senior management teams in diverse companies and industries address their financial and accounting needs and issues.

Horwitz’s experience includes CFO roles at companies in transition, such as PopCap Games and Click Wine Group, as well as Manager/Partner of the advisory practices at Arthur Andersen and Tatum.

Taylor has served as controller for a manufacturing company, as director of advisory practices at Arthur Andersen, KPMG and Tatum, and in numerous financial executive roles on behalf of clients. She previously founded and managed Red Cedar Partners, a healthcare consulting firm.

For his part, after serving as a Managing Partner at Tatum, Gottschalk held the post of Vice President and Financial Advisor at Bernstein Global Wealth Management, where he worked with high-net-worth individuals, foundations and endowments on a wide range of investment matters and strategies. He currently serves on the Board of the Northwest chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and on committees of a number of non-profits.

Earlier in his career, he was a CEO and CFO in three venture-backed emerging technology companies. During this period, he successfully led equity and debt financings, strategic partnering initiatives, the spin-out of a corporate division, and the sale of two of the businesses to publicly-traded companies.

“Joining Karla, Meg and their team is really one of the highlights of my career,” says Gottschalk. “And helping to manage a firm like this, which is focused on assisting C-Level executives as they try to navigate in these complex times, offers tremendous possibilities for client service that are both meaningful and essential. This plays right into my passion, and I can’t wait to get going.”
