Unified professional services and consulting organization formed as enterprises increasingly adopt Enterworks for MDM, PIM and multi-channel publishing

“The rapid growth in companies choosing our MDM and PIM software over competitors is attributed to more than a proven product” -- Bob Lewis, president and chief executive officer of Enterworks

Enterworks, Inc., a rapidly growing leader in master data management (MDM) for innovative product companies, today appointed Kerry Young, formerly head of the company’s Southeast Region, as Senior Vice President of Customer Implementation and Success. In his new role, Young will lead a global services and consulting organization combining all of the company’s resources for successfully implementing MDM and product information management (PIM) software for large and mid-size companies marketing thousands or millions of products.

“The rapid growth in companies choosing our MDM and PIM software over competitors is attributed to more than a proven product,” said Bob Lewis, president and chief executive officer of Enterworks. “Our total solution approach includes seasoned professionals who work closely with customers to assess their product information needs, define taxonomies and hierarchies, capture best practices in enterprise workflow and streamline the publication of product information to print and Web channels. Kerry Young’s proven abilities to ensure customer success by integrating products and services makes him the ideal leader in this critical, customer-focused role.”

Kerry Young joined Enterworks in 2006, bringing considerable customer experience and operational expertise to the company. He managed IT systems for a subsidiary of McDonnell Douglas, and later served as CIO for Marshall Industries, a $1.7 billion industrial electronics distributor. At Marshall he oversaw the development of Marshall.com, the basis of a revolutionary global business model using the Web to facilitate business-to-business commerce and supply chain management. The site was selected by Advertising Age magazine for two consecutive years as the best business-to-business Web site, and InformationWeek magazine ranked Marshall Industries twice in the top 10 corporations who best utilized information technology. Mr. Young subsequently held the CTO position at Buildscape, a subsidiary of Dow Chemical, where he led the development of a unique enterprise SAAS product catalog and e-commerce offering for the building and construction industry. Managing product information and supply chain processing for hundreds of thousands of products from multiple vendors, the system was used by hundreds of the country’s top homebuilders and lumberyards.

In each of these positions, Young’s innovations in complex product environments and customer facing technologies were widely recognized and led him to co-found Ennovative, the software company acquired by Enterworks in 2006 that developed the multi-channel publishing core of the successful Enable solution relied upon by customers today.

“I’m excited about bringing our customers the best consulting talent in MDM, PIM, multi-channel publishing, digital asset management and workflow,” said Kerry Young. “Seeing the successful results of our many recent implementations is gratifying, and the innovative projects underway with our customers in supply, distribution and retail are positioning them as formidable competitors in their industries.”

Enterworks recently added to its growing customer base North America’s largest wholesale distributor, largest full-service restaurant company, largest office products distributor and a leading electronics supplier with nine million items. In addition to choosing Enterworks over -- or to replace -- other vendors, each of these customers is supplementing their product license with Enterworks’ professional consulting services. Each customer is using Enterworks’ services in unique ways, including better managing their product information, improving data quality and publishing accurate, consistent product information through multiple selling channels.
