“This concert will bring much needed financial and emotional support to the community so we can start to rebuild and get on with our lives.” - Jeremiah Jones, owner of The Dixie/Event Organizer
Austin, TX (PRWEB) June 02, 2011
Front Gate Tickets today announced it would donate its ticketing fees from the upcoming Tunes for Tuscaloosa Benefit Concert, which will be held June 26 at Cityfest Lot in downtown Tuscaloosa. The event, which will feature performances by Pam Tillis, Corey Smith, and Rhett Akins among others, will benefit Tuscaloosa residents affected by the April 27 storms.
“The city of Tuscaloosa has been devastated by the recent events,” says Jeremiah Jones, event organizer and owner of The Dixie, a music venue on the University of Alabama campus. “This concert will bring much needed financial and emotional support to the community so we can start to rebuild and get on with our lives.”
Other artists have donated their time to help the tornado-ravaged region, including country superstar Kenny Chesney, who turned his May 25th concert at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater into a benefit concert. And Hank Williams Jr., who calls Alabama home, recently participated in the televised CMT benefit that included Lady Antebellum, Alabama, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Gretchen Wilson, Little Big Town, Trace Adkins and The Blind Boys of Alabama.
“Front Gate has deep ties to Tuscaloosa and other cities in Alabama,” says Jeff Kreinik, a spokesman at Front Gate Tickets. “Not only do we have clients in the area, but we also have long-time personal friends in the region who we want to help.”
Tickets for the event are on sale now at http://www.frontgatetickets.com for $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Front Gate Tickets will donate its $2.00 service fee to the City of Tuscaloosa Tornado Relief Fund in support of its friends and business partners in the area. Supporters can also make a donation at http://fgtix.to/tuscaloosa_benefit.
