New York, NY (PRWEB) June 01, 2011
CanAm Enterprises LLC, one of the leading promoters of EB-5 immigrant investment funds, announced today that it has been selected by the North Country Chamber of Commerce to operate the Plattsburgh, NY Regional located in upstate New York. The Plattsburgh Regional Center is the fifth among those exclusively promoted by CanAm, in addition to those operated in City of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of Hawaii and the County of Los Angeles.
The Plattsburgh North Country Regional Center was approved on May 19th, following an application filed by CanAm Enterprises, LLC and the North Country Chamber of Commerce. With the strong support of U.S. Senator Charles Schumer and Congressman Bill Owens, the Plattsburgh Regional Center will focus on investment opportunities in economically challenged areas and specified industry sectors, including transportation and aerospace, real-estate development, manufacturing and trade, and technology.
“The Plattsburgh Regional Center is an engine for economic development that can deliver important and lasting improvements to our area, including jobs,” said Garry Douglas, President of the North Country Chamber of Commerce. “We wanted an able and experienced operator to administrate the program in order to deliver the best results to the region. We believe CanAm Enterprises is the best choice. Their history and results certainly bears that decision out.”
"CanAm Enterprises is pleased to be named as operating partner for the new Plattsburgh Regional Center,” said Tom Rosenfeld, President and CEO of CanAm Enterprises. “Having raised over $1 billion in EB-5 investor funds to date, we look forward to putting our experience and resources to work to facilitate new-job creation and economic development in New York State's North Country region."
The EB-5 program is a federally-sponsored program overseen by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) that generates investments from qualified foreign investors who commit a minimum of $500,000 to a public or private project. Each investment must create ten jobs for a specified period of time within a targeted employment area and designated industry.
