Tampa, FL (PRWEB) June 07, 2011
At the age of twenty-four, Florida entrepreneur Ethan Lewis already has his eyes set on building a socially responsible business. The Tampa businessman recently started GlucoBrands LLC, to create and market innovative lifestyle solutions for the diabetes community. GlucoPouch, the first product, is a fast-acting glucose gel designed to treat low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. Its innovations include an ultra light, easy to carry gel pouch; one that is easy to open, easy to use, is low cost, and has “cool” packaging.
GlucoBrand’s founder was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 12 with no history of the condition in his family.
Being involved with diabetes charities and building friendships with leaders in the diabetes community inspired Ethan to build a business that gives back.
As Ethan said, “Although living with Type 1 Diabetes has never been easy, it has had a positive impact on my business career and given me serious determination and drive.”
The key to GlucoBrands is that every sale gives a portion of it’s profits back to a diabetes charity of the customers’ choice.
However, creating tasty products and giving back weren’t enough. To make GlucoBrands a success, Ethan called upon some of the top talent from his Alma mater, the University of Tampa, to create a young team to grow this startup.
When asked about GlucoBrands competing in a 200+ billion dollar diabetes market, Ethan said, “I have strategically built a team whose members have great ideas, social awareness and street smarts. To make it in this environment, it takes more than a business plan to become the best, it takes an excellent team with plenty of innovative ideas.”
