The innovative leadership organization created to help advance the quality of leadership worldwide, FRED, is live with a new website as an online platform to promote its ideas and initiatives. The new FRED website is at http://www.fredforum.org
“FRED is a leadership incubator designed to elevate the quality of leadership – in business, education, not-for-profits, government, the military and elsewhere,” said Jim Bolt, CEO of FRED, Inc. “Our new website is key to advancing our emphasis on great leadership,” added Bolt.
The organization’s primary means for exploring new ideas, tools, and methods for developing great leaders is the annual FRED Forum, a unique three-day ideas and action think tank. The FRED Forum brings together leading innovators and senior executives with a passion for leadership and responsibility for developing leaders to cultivate ideas, surface solutions, and inspire action in the business, social, and government sectors. The 2011 FRED Forum will be held in London from October 11-13.
“We envision extraordinary leaders with the capabilities to thrive in a complex, uncertain global future,” said Jim Bolt. “They are leaders who forge organizations that not only excel in traditional business terms but also contribute significantly to the health and vitality of society and the planet,” added Bolt.
FRED sponsors include a strong range of corporations, academic institutions, and client-service firms -- including Unilever, Cisco, McDonald's, London Business School, Fidelity Investments, MIT, and Ericsson - among others.
“The FRED Forum has created a vibrant community of engaged and innovative leaders across a number of different fields and industries,” said Larry Kaye, VP of Leadership Development at BlackRock. “There is a spirit and purpose that fosters a unique blend of creative dialogue and practical ideas that can be implemented,” Kaye added.
The FRED Council of Senior Advisors is a prestigious group of thought leaders, pioneers, and experts from the overlapping fields of leadership and leadership/executive development. Advisors include: Warren Bennis, Distinguished Professor at USC; Ted Hoff, VP, IBM; Bob Johansen, Distinguished Fellow, Institute for the Future; Annmarie Neal, VP Cisco Systems; Alan Webber, Founding Editor, Fast Company Magazine; and Col Tom Kolditz, Professor and Head of Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership, U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
