The recent tornado disaster in Joplin, Missouri and the Missouri River flooding is being supported by unprecedented security and emergency communications. Rivada Networks’ emergency communications systems are being used to provide critical communications that can support any contingency that might arise. The use of mobile, deployable and interoperable communications represents a major step forward toward providing dynamic, independent and assured communications that directly support Disaster Relief, Homeland Security, and Public Safety personnel. Rivada Networks mobile systems are in use and on standby to serve several key first response elements in and around the Missouri disaster areas to assure uninterrupted communications throughout these events. This innovative technology was developed in direct response to the tragic events of 9/11/01 and was designed to ensure that Federal, State and Local first responders always have the ability to seamlessly communicate with each other during a crisis. These assets have been used in nearly every major disaster relief effort over the past seven years, to include Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, for which Rivada was awarded the Louisiana Distinguished Service Medal. Rivada also participated in recovery efforts for Flooding on the Mississippi River, Tornadoes in Kansas and Georgia, Wildfires in California, and Hurricanes Ike and Gustav.

Rivada Networks recognizes the criticality of these most recent events in Missouri and is proud to be a part of the exceptional team providing systems for recovery efforts. Declan Ganley, Chairman and CEO of Rivada, commenting on these events said “We are honored to be able to provide support for first responders with life-saving interoperable communications technology.”

Rivada Networks is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia with operations in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and in Ireland. Their core business is Public Safety and Homeland Security Interoperability. Rivada is a leading designer, integrator and operator of public safety communications and information technology networks for homeland security forces and first responders.
