Nomadix, Inc., the leading provider of network gateway devices, today announced the release of the latest version of its NSE software for the hospitality industry’s Internet connections.
The NSE 7.2 gives Nomadix customers unprecedented control over its Internet connections and devices through Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) options that will enable:
- VOIP phones over the guest network -- a savings in infrastructure spending
- Group Bandwidth Management -- assigning a common bandwidth rate limiting policy to a group of subscriber devices. All devices within the group share the total bandwidth allocated to the policy.
- Configurable Gateway Refresh Interval -- to enable users to refresh the Address Resolution Protocol cache entry for the gateway IP without waiting for the ARP cache entry to expire. This gives users greater flexibility in the hospitality environment where multiple devices share the same IP address.
The new software release will give Nomadix customers greater control over their networks and the bandwidth used, allowing all users to experience faster speeds while retaining the ability to limit bandwidth to any one user. For instance, the NSE software allows hotels to provide greater bandwidth to groups of users in designated conference rooms while limiting bandwidth in common areas that may be used by non-hotel guests. DHCP options software will also give customers access to new products and services such as VOIP phones, a feature requested by Nomadix customers.
“NSE 7.2 adds important value for our customers,” says Fred Reeder, chief commercial and operating officer of Nomadix. “As the demand for higher bandwidth continues to grow rapidly, NSE 7.2 gives customers the ability to service their users with high-speed connections, thus enabling many exciting new products and capabilities. We see a rapid growth in the types of devices that hotel guests use to conduct business and enable personal connections while they travel. We are responding to the need to serve these devices with a very flexible and robust software that hotels can use to manage bandwidth within groups.”
“The new NSE software release will allow us to provide more flexibility in the management of our clients’ high-speed access network,” said Chris Headings, vice president of operations at Sunray, a leading hospitality solutions provider. “We are dedicated to providing the best solutions possible to our clients, and the new features of this software release will play a major role in delivering a superior client/guest experience while helping to efficiently manage our clients’ bandwidth management needs.”
