IntApp, Inc., the leading provider of time capture software for law firms, today announced that City law firm Lewis Silkin LLP, a full service commercial firm with 200 fee earners, has selected IntApp Time Builder to improve time recording practices.
“Lewis Silkin is always on the look-out for new technology that offers us both better working practices and competitive advantage,” said Jan Durant, Director of IT & Operations, Lewis Silkin LLP. “We saw IntApp Time Builder as a major advance which could enhance our existing systems.”
Lewis Silkin selected IntApp Time Builder as part of an ongoing IT initiative to enhance key business software throughout the firm. Time Builder will be implemented as the application used by the lawyers to show potential gaps in time capture. It will interface with existing firm applications including Elite 3E, TimeKM, LexisNexis InterAction and a Microsoft SharePoint-based document management system the firm developed in-house.
Time Builder is software that enables law firms to increase revenue by capturing billable time that is missed or under-billed. It does this by providing fee-earners with an accurate, consolidated journal of client/matter-related activity, generated by automatically monitoring the key applications they use throughout the day. Tracked systems include document creation, email, calendar, phone, and mobile devices.
These activity journals are cross-referenced against client matter information and provided in a “daily timesheet” format available as an automated email or paper printout. Journals are also accessible by fee-earners, or their secretaries, through a web-based interface which allows activities to be grouped, detailed and submitted to common time entry applications, including those provided by vendors such as Thomson Elite, ADERANT, Advanced Productivity Software and Tikit.
This approach allows fee-earners to more easily record and enter time, often finding lost or overlooked work. Additionally, by simplifying time recording, Time Builder increases end-user satisfaction level while accelerating the billing cycle.
“We arranged for the departmental finance partners to see a demonstration of the Time Builder product, and immediately they saw a product which could not only add value to our current systems, but also one which should save each of them many hours per year in administrative time," added Durant. "The management board made the unanimous decision to deploy Time Builder a few days later.”
“An acknowledged leader in the technology space, Lewis Silkin joins a growing community of law firms adopting IntApp Time Builder,” said Kaye Sycamore, UK Managing Director, IntApp. “We are excited to support the firm’s time recording needs, helping them to efficiently capture and bill more time while reducing administrative costs.”
