The Summer of Massacre is a 100 MPH "Splatterfest" that offers you not 1 but 8 maniacal, terrifying and unstoppable killers. Don't miss this new Thriller/Splatter Horror epic.

Escobar Indie Pictures, Ltd and filmmakers Joe Castro, Steven Escobar and Schroeder announced today the completion of The Summer of Massacre, the new epic thriller/splatter horror film. In the same vein as a Herschel Gordon Lewis masterpiece, from the 1960’s, this motion picture is a “Splatterfest” using the technology of 2011. This hardworking team wore many hats in this production which has been in the making for 3 years. Castro is the writer, producer, director, special EFX artist, and CGI visual effects creator. Emmy award-winning editor, (“The Amazing Race”) Escobar is the executive producer, editor, and director of photography and has worked with Castro on 8 feature films. Schroeder was the co-producer, and shares a writing credit with Castro on a significant chapter in the film. In a respectful homage to Alfred Hitchcock, all 3 make cameos in the film amongst a never before recorded gore epic body count. Castro, a direct protégé of Herschell Gordon Lewis, The Godfather of Gore, is the #1 recognized special effects gore master of today. Schroeder is the publisher of “Cult Movies Magazine” and is the quintessential “living encyclopedia” of this genre so it was the perfect trio to create such an epic.

Noted actors in this genre such as Brinke Stevens (“Slumber Party Massacre”), Nick Principe (“Laid to Rest”), and Cleve Hall (“Nightmare”) lead an ensemble cast of hot, up and coming stars such as Lisa Garcia and Lauren Boehm who make their theatrical debuts. Legendary horror character actor and filmmaker Kenneth Hall (“Puppetmaster”) makes a memorable (and gory) cameo appearance in this nail-biting thriller/splatter horror film.

This film is a 100 MPH gore ride that never slows down. It offers you not 1 but 8 maniacal, terrifying, relentless and unstoppable killers. Even the most seasoned horror movie goers will be unprepared for a body count so high, so hold on to your barf bag because The Summer of Massacre is so bloody, so shocking, it’s unlike anything they have ever seen in the history of slasher films.

The Summer of Massacre will make it’s world premiere at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival on June 25, 2001 at 11:30pm and 12:15am. Escobar Indie Pictures is currently seeking domestic and international distribution and is available for film festivals throughout the world.
