Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) June 08, 2011
POD, Inc. earned Microsoft Silver Competencies in eight areas in 2011, demonstrating the company’s dedication to providing breadth and depth of service and support for its customers in private business and the non-profit world. Earned competency areas were Data Platform, SharePoint Portals and Collaboration, Project and Portfolio Management, Server Platform, Desktop Platform, Midmarket Solution Provider, Software Development, and Web Development. POD is the only IT company to have earned a silver competence in Project and Portfolio Management and Web Development. At this time POD has the highest number in New Mexico. POD also holds the distinction of being a Microsoft Small Business Specialist and Microsoft Online Services Partner.
Competencies were awarded to: Brad Tritz and Wayne McCashland in Data Platform, Jon King and Jean Vosburg in SharePoint Portals and Collaboration, Chris Neitzey and Dale Atkinson in Project and Portfolio Management, David Reinsvold and Tim Stone in Server Platform, Natalie Eslinger and David Reinsvold in Desktop Platform, Tim Stone and David Reinsvold in Midmarket Solution Provider, and Bob Heaphy and Kathy Houck in both Software Development and Web Development. Guy Sears and Amy Segura also received their Small Business Specialist certifications.
In February of this year Microsoft redesigned its certification process to require a higher level of competency. A coveted Gold Certification requires an IT service company to have four professionals certified in the same competency. The certification demonstrates in-depth technical knowledge on the most up-to-date technology and services, and is a standard for end users who wish to hire the best qualified service providers.
“With notice given only six months prior to the deadline, POD worked hard to achieve these certifications,” said Samantha Lapin, president and CEO of POD, Inc. “We made it a team objective and our team has come through. This is a validation of our dedication to the highest quality of service and support for the small businesses and non-profits that we serve in the Greater Albuquerque area,” she said.
To earn a Microsoft Silver Competency, a company must support an employee in becoming a Microsoft Certified Professional in a specific competency. This requires studying for and passing a certification exam, which includes 70 or more questions and can take up to three hours. The company must then submit a minimum of three customer references, participate in a yearly customer satisfaction survey and complete technical evaluations and exams.
