Wanova Inc, a desktop virtualization provider, today announced a newly appointed executive team and members of the Board. The combined experience of these internationally recognized technologist and business leaders will continue Wanova’s strategy to centrally manage computing resources without sacrificing user performance, flexibility or accessibility. Widespread adoption of Wanova’s approach to desktop virtualization focuses the industry on user-centric computing and centralized data back-up, recovery and security.

Sebastiano Tevarotto has been named Chief Executive Officer and member of the Wanova Board of Directors; Tevarotto succeeds Wanova co-founder Ilan Kessler, who will remain with the company. Also joining Wanova as Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Sales is desktop and application virtualization veteran from Citrix Systems, Barry Phillips. Al Shipp, president and CEO of 3VR Security Inc joins Wanova’s Board of Directors.

Tevarotto brings more than 25-years of IT, telecommunications and media experience to Wanova. Tevarotto previously served as vice president and general manager of the Global Communications, Media and Entertainment Business at HP. Prior to his role as vice president at HP, Tevarotto held senior sales, marketing management and general management positions at HP in EMEA and the United States. Tevarotto holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Padova.

"We are pleased to welcome these exceptional leaders to our executive team, as they will lead Wanova as we continue to ease the burden IT organizations face in desktop management. Our ability to centralize all desktop management efforts brings an ease of use and security that places us as a leader among other desktop virtualization solutions,” said Ilan Kessler, co-founder of Wanova. “Our anticipated growth and business development needs have a supporting executive team with a blend of extensive technological background and vision for the potential of desktop visualization."

Phillips will lead Wanova’s global sales, marketing and business development strategies and establish key technology partnership programs. Prior to joining Wanova, Phillips served as General Manager at Citrix, where he helped drive the development of new desktop and virtualization solutions. He has also held product management, marketing, business development and sales positions with Net6 Inc., Everypath Inc., Cranite Systems, Vialto Corporation and Nortel.

As a member of Wanova's Board of Directors, Shipp will provide guidance during a period of strong growth and rapid change in the company. He currently serves as President and CEO of 3VR Security Inc., a global leader in intelligent surveillance and search and the originator of search-based video surveillance.

Wanova’s Mirage centralizes desktop images in the network similar to VDI, but allows a virtual copy of the image to run locally on a laptop so that users take advantage of the native performance of a PC -- including the ability to run multimedia apps and work while disconnected from the network. Centralization not only enables management of a single copy of operating systems, applications, etc, but also then enables back-up of the entire image, not just the data, so that a user will have the exact image even down to personalization.
