Author draws link between terrorism and government corruption

Concerns of humanity transcend interests of nationality.

Nihal Sri Ameresekere, a multi-disciplinary professional conversant with both the private and public sectors, is a public interest activist in Sri Lanka with wide international exposure. Though not a legal professional, he has appeared in person before the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, its highest judiciary, and successfully advocated public interest litigations and expanded into human rights and civil society responsibility. He is a forensic accounting investigative specialist. Has extensively published incisive exposés and spoken out on matters of national and public interest. Ameresekere ardently upholds the precept that public property and finance is solely of the people, and managed in fiduciary trust by governments. He has combated transgressions of this trust, fearlessly standing up against powerful politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen whilst castigating compromising and conniving professionals who act in breach of their contractual responsibility to society.

What is emphasized is that economic terrorism creates armed terrorism. “Concerns of humanity transcend interests of nationality,” states the author. He further elaborates that poverty alleviation schemes merely replace, at the cost of the poor, their own resources pillaged and plundered by socio-politically influential. Politicians vigorously campaign on election platforms, decrying fraud and corruption and vowing stringent action against them. However, upon assuming office these same politicians get bogged down in the very quagmire of fraud and corruption, peddled by powerful multinationals acting in collusion with political financiers and lackeys, explains Ameresekere. Sometimes this includes professionals – as lucidly demonstrated through a series of other publications based on the author’s experiences, which has material relevance to people in other countries who are confronted with similar issues and problems.

“IAACA is pleased that one of its Members, Mr. Nihal Sri Ameresekere, in keeping with the objectives of IAACA, has taken a step to author and publish a series of Books, dealing with real case studies in combating the global cancerous menace of economic fraud and corruption, which threatens good governance and the well being of people. The contents of this series of books would, no doubt, be of material relevance and of educational value to anti-corruption authorities globally."
– Secretary General of International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities, Dr. Ye Feng
