Grapevine, TX (PRWEB) June 06, 2011
Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, and the Imagine America Foundation (IAF), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships for education, research and training for the career college sector, today announced plans to launch a college and career readiness website designed to support private sector college students’ success in higher education and the workplace. The announcement was made at the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities 2011 Annual Convention & Expo in Grapevine, Texas.
The new website will offer content and activities, at no cost to students, on topics including financial literacy, time management, setting and achieving goals and tips on securing employment after graduation.
A beta version of the site is available for preview at the APSCU meeting by visiting the Pearson booth (#805) or the IAF booth (#519). The website will be fully available by Fall 2011.
“Our goal in launching this site is to reinforce our mission of helping students succeed in career school and beyond,” said Robert L. Martin, President of the Imagine America Foundation. “Pearson’s expertise and commitment to career colleges, coupled with its high quality content for this sector, make it an ideal partner in this endeavor. We are excited to contribute this valuable resource to the career school community.”
“Private sector colleges play a significant role in higher education, and we look forward to collaborating with the Imagine America Foundation in our ongoing efforts to support these students and their continued achievement,” said Don Kilburn, CEO of Pearson Learning Solutions.
Pearson is a supporter of the IAF’s 21st Century Workforce Fund, an initiative to conduct research that elevates the public’s understanding of the vital role of career colleges and their students nationwide.
