A mania for finding ingenious alternative uses for everyday things is rapidly sweeping around the world. MORF, a new app for iOS and Android, brings them together for the first time.

MORF App for iPad
For years people have been discovering amazing and unexpected uses for everyday things. Now for the first time we have pulled all of these together, enabling people all over the world to share their discoveries.

Did you know you can use beer to remove coffee stains? Have a great facial scrub with kitty litter? Alleviate aches and pains with mustard?

A new app for iPhone and Android users, called MORF, allows people to discover these new uses for items they have in their homes.

Users can also submit their own ideas or MORFs, and thank others who have helped solve a problem by sending them a cash gift through PayPal.

MORF marketing director Matthew Rowe said: “For years people have been discovering amazing and unexpected uses for everyday things. Now for the first time we have pulled all of these together, enabling people all over the world to share their discoveries.

“After only a week thousands of people are using the app to find MORFs and submit their own, not just in the US and the UK but also in Australia, Norway, Germany, Israel and Sweden, to name but a few.”

A voting system allows people to see which MORFs others have found the most useful such as cleaning smelly fingers with baking soda and using bananas to ripen other fruit.

There are MORFS of the day so you can easily discover a really helpful household trick, and MORFs can easily be shared on Twitter and Facebook.

The app is priced £1.79 in both iTunes and the Android Marketplace.

You can download it from iTunes here: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/morf/id432518123?mt=8
