Auto dealers praise new speed and simplicity in comparing and writing aftermarket service contracts.

Used car warranty, comprehensive service contract, dependable used car, reliable pre-owned vehicle, auto dealer support, sell cars

“The interface is unbelievably well done,” says Mike Bowers of John’s Great Cars, Reading, PA

In less than a minute I can enter the information on any vehicle, calculate all of the service contract options, and have it presentable for the customer on a single page.

Preferred Warranties Inc. has introduced an online contract entry program for used car dealerships. Officially rolled out on June 6, eContract allows dealers to instantly compare, present and submit Preferred Warranties service contracts on virtually any vehicle.

The proprietary program was developed by Preferred’s IT department in 2010, and field tested from February through May 2011. Eleven dealers participated in the beta test, and provided input that enabled the company to fine-tune the program with field-driven features.

For example, by entering the VIN and mileage, the system automatically displays the plans available for that particular vehicle and calculates the Vehicle Service Contract price, including any applicable surcharges. The chance of human error is minimized, the need for dealers to look through price sheets and class sheets is eliminated. Customers are protected with instant coverage the moment they drive their vehicle off the lot.

eContract is receiving an enthusiastic reception from Preferred Warranties dealers throughout the company’s East Coast and Midwest trading area.

“The interface is unbelievably well done,” comments Mike Bowers of John’s Great Cars, Reading, PA, one of the dealerships that participated in testing the program. “The speed and simplicity are amazing. In less than a minute I can enter the information on any vehicle, calculate all of the service contract options, and have it presentable for the customer on a single page.”

“It’s very easy to navigate. I can mark it up retail and show it to the customer right on the screen,” notes Teracia Rice, of Jeff England Motor Co., Cleburne, TX. “Submitting the contract is easier too. There are no forms to manage, line up in the printer, or fax.”

eContract is accessed through the secure dealer area of Preferred’s website, http://www.warrantys.com. All six major Preferred Warranties plans are included in the program: Powertrain, Base, Plus, Extra Mile, Premier and Budget Plans.

Preferred Warranties Inc. has been a quality leader in aftermarket vehicle protection plans since the company was founded in 1992. In 1998, it was ranked #179 on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing U.S. companies and earned a Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics from the Better Business Bureau, which continues to give the company its highest A+ rating. Today, Preferred Warranties are available through dealerships in 16 states: Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

“It’s a great new tool,” summarizes Ms. Rice. “It’s one more way that Preferred is making it easier for us to sell cars.”
