Cloud Services Coalition produced its first CSC Boot Camp for Cloud Service Integrators and independent agents. Thirty attendees received CSC Certifications after a two-day training on a consultative approach to selling cloud services.

A group of 30 independent agents and Cloud Service Integrators were the first to become CSC Certified this month. On May 19 and 20, agents and Cloud Service Integrators met for two days of in-depth cloud sales training at the Villa Siena in Gilbert, AZ. The event was produced by the Cloud Services Coalition (CSC), a team of master agents and cloud integrators focused on delivering quality cloud-related services.

The seminar featured presentations and sales training from CSC founders, Andrew Pryfogle of Terrapin Solutions and Clark Atwood of Concierge Communications. The goal of the event was to help cloud-focused agents hone their technical and sales knowledge through a consultative approach to selling cloud services. Attendees walked away with a clearer understanding of cloud fundamentals, the competitive landscape, and how to use the Terrapin Method, a consultative sales process designed by Pryfogle and his team.

On Friday afternoon, CSC administered a cloud sales certification exam. Agents who passed the exam received the Cloud Services Coalition Sales Certification and will differentiate themselves from other cloud sales professional with a CSC Certified Sales Representative logo for use in proposals, on business cards, on Web sites and in presentations. In addition, they gained access to the resources from the growing number of national CSC Cloud providers and integrators.

The May 2011 CSC Boot Camp marked the first of a series of planned trainings from the coalition.

“We are very excited to have completed our first Boot Camp,” said Clark Atwood, CSC principal. “We have an extremely qualified group of independent agents and Cloud Integration Specialists who understand the cloud and what it can do for a business. This event is just the beginning of a very large movement in our industry.”

"I've attended a lot of trainings over the years, and this was certainly one of the best,” said Rebekah Clark, Senior Supplier Manager, Intelisys. “As the industry, technology, and the marketplace change, we know that traditional sales techniques are not going to be the winning strategy moving forward. Not only did the CSC Cloud Services Boot Camp help to demystify the cloud, it also brings solution selling to the next level. I think that any sales partner will benefit greatly by attending this session. It's not just product, and it's not just sales techniques. It's about strategizing with your customers to help them make sound business decisions that improve their businesses and make you, their agent, a trusted advisor."

Three providers sponsored the event. The group viewed presentations by Scott Kinka, Senior Vice President of Evolve IP, and Darren Prine, Direct of Channel Sales at ConnectFirst, reviewing their respective company’s cloud strategy and solutions. tw telecom sponsored the event as a cloud connectivity provider.
