Award Winning North Carolina Mover Relocates Local Branch to New Facilities in Charlotte

Our company constantly seeks ways to enhance our impact on our customers’ and employees’ lives

Gentle Giant Moving Company , an award winning residential and commercial mover based in Mass., announced today that it has opened a new North Carolina area moving branch location in Charlotte, NC. The storage warehouse and office space will serve as the company’s local base of operation now that it has moved out of its former Charlotte facility. The company cites benefits of the new branch location including a vastly improved climate controlled storage facility and more space for the growing branch. In addition to the change for its Charlotte moving company, Gentle Giant is announcing this relocation as part of a number of growth initiatives in 2011, its 31st year of operation in which it now operates New York moving, San Francisco moving, Seattle moving, and DC moving branches.

The need for a larger warehouse has become more pressing for the Charlotte branch, which originally opened in 2006, due to a steady increase in shipments, manpower, and storage space demands. In 2010, revenues for the company’s Charlotte regional operations grew 37 percent in local move services compared to 2009. Gentle Giant conducted 519 shipments in this region in comparison to 2009’s 426 shipments.

The new Charlotte branch is one of eighteen Gentle Giant Moving Company branch locations nationwide, all of which offer superior storage options for its customers. In the short time since Gentle Giant Charlotte opened, it has already earned the coveted Angie’s List® Super Service Award, which reflects the company’s consistently high level of customer satisfaction.

“We are pleased about our new Charlotte branch location because it offers opportunities for our great employees to attract new customers and provide them with even more services,” said Gentle Giant President and CEO Larry O’Toole. “Our company constantly seeks ways to enhance our impact on our customers’ and employees’ lives, and our new facilities will enable us to do that.”

Gentle Giant states that the Charlotte location at 3827 Barringer Drive will have higher quality and larger office and warehouse storage space than it had in the past, as well as new opportunities to engage with the local community members and business people. Gentle Giant has plans for communications and promotional activities in the area in connection with the opening of its new Charlotte branch.
