The new website is for our varying audiences that have a stake in improving the safety of health care
Jefferson City, MO (PRWEB) June 09, 2011
The Missouri Center for Patient Safety (MOCPS) has introduced a new web site at http://www.mocps.org for use by health care providers and the general public to enable a greater focus on important patient safety related issues and services.
MOCPS’ mission is to be a leader in providing solutions and resources that improve patient safety and the quality of health care delivery. The new site complements MOCPS’ safety improvement activities, in addition to enhancing its services as a federally designated Patient Safety Organization (PSO), in partnership with organizations throughout the nation.
The site now offers a blog format providing up-to-date information about MOCPS activities, programs and patient safety news, as well as audio and video content and a new Facebook presence.
The MOCPS website also provides quality and safety improvement awareness information and resources for patients and families, as well as physicians, purchasers and the government.
Recently, the MOCPS sponsored, Patient Safety Awareness Month, in April, featuring an online recorded tele-forum with patient safety experts, Judy Baker, Department of Health and Human Services, Dr. Sean Berenholtz, Johns Hopkins, David Marx, Outcome Engineering, Becky Miller, MOCPS, and Diane Cousins, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The brief and information-packed discussions are available on the new website to encourage the public to learn about important patient safety issues.
“The new website is for our varying audiences that have a stake in improving the safety of health care,” said MOCPS Executive Director, Becky Miller. “That means health care providers who regularly access the MOCPS website for project specific resources and general information, as well as for the general public to become better informed and involved as partners in their health care.”
Visitors to the new website are also invited to read the newly released MOCPS report, 5 Years of Progress - 2010, to view what MOCPS safety improvement activities are taking place as well as who is participating.
