This is certainly shaping up to be the year of Final Cut Pro X...
Los Angeles CA/Boston MA (PRWEB UK) 13 June 2011
The Final Cut Pro User Group Network have announced that the London FCPUG SuperMeet will return to the Great Hall at the Kensington Conference and Event Centre in London, England on Thursday, 23 June, 2011. This SuperMeet follows the blinding success of the 10th Annual Las Vegas FCPUG SuperMeet held this past April during NAB Show 2011. Tickets are on sale now what is expected to be another highly anticipated sold out event.
An estimated crowd of over 1800 people attended the recent 10th Annual Las Vegas FCPUG SuperMeet, which celebrated the Tenth Anniversary of SuperMeets and gave the world a “sneak peak” of Final Cut Pro X which is expected to be released in June, 2011.
"It was a brilliant night,” states Daniel Berube, SuperMeet co-producer and head of the Boston Final Cut Pro User Group. “Apple surprised us and the world by previewing Final Cut Pro X and the reaction was nothing short of exuberant. But most of us left us with more questions than answers. Assuming FCP X is released by then, in London, we hope to answer many of those questions.”
“This is certainly shaping up to be the year of Final Cut Pro X,” adds Michael Horton, SuperMeet co-producer and head of the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group. “We are hopeful that FCP X will be released by 23 June and if it is, then we intend to show it off. We'll have plenty of new and unique FCP tips, tricks and workflow ideas to have a look at. It’s going to be an exciting night, that we can guarantee.”
The final agenda will not be announced until shortly before the event date, however producer, director, editor, consultant and Apple-Certified trainer Larry Jordan will present on the latest in Final Cut Pro.
“Larry's a masterful presenter and we are excited to feature him,” states Horton. “Larry's energy, enthusiasm and extraordinary knowledge of Final Cut Pro always makes for a smashing experience. He's working on his presentation now, more about that in a couple of weeks. Cool stuff about Final Cut 7? A first look at Final Cut X? Larry's keeping that under his magical hat.”
In addition, Colorist Alexis Van Hurkman will show off DaVinci Resolve 8 from Blackmagic Design. Autodesk’s Joe Billington will demystify Smoke on Mac OS X. And there will be special user-generated films from Red Giant Software and Genarts, Inc. plus much more. Rounding out the evening will be the always raucous “World Famous Raffle” where dozens of lucky people will go home with thousands of Pounds worth of valuable software and hardware.
Doors to the SuperMeet will open at about 19:00 with the "SuperMeet Digital Showcase," featuring over 15 software and hardware developers including Blackmagic Design, AV3/GET, Genarts, G-Tech, Jigsaw, LaCie, Drobo, Red Giant Software, London Filter Company, Qube Master, Tiffen, and many others. Here, attendees can enjoy a few cocktails, mingle and party with industry peers, network one on one with leading manufacturers and learn about the latest trends in collaborative editing workflows for post production and broadcast markets.
"This will be our second SuperMeet in London and certainly not our last either, as we move forward to distance ourselves from trade shows and further build our global community with unique offerings," explains Bérubé. "We have brilliant support in the UK from the creative community and we expect another fantastic turnout."
It is expected the London FCPUG SuperMeet will sell out as historically SuperMeets always sell out. Tickets are on sale now for only £15.00 each plus ticket fee. Students and Teachers with a valid student or teacher ID can purchase tickets for £10.00 each.

About the SuperMeets:
SuperMeets are gatherings of Final Cut Studio, Adobe and Avid editors, gurus and digital filmmakers from throughout the world who use or want to learn to use Macintosh-based workflows and solutions such as Apple's Final Cut Studio suite of applications. Final Cut Pro User Groups (FCPUG) started as a grassroots movement to connect Apple Final Cut Pro Editors at a local level. Now in its 10th year, the producers behind the SuperMeet have harnessed the energy of local chapters globally and turned SuperMeets into the industry’s most influential user-organized series of global events. SuperMeets are held annually in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Amsterdam, London and Boston. The SuperMeet agenda usually includes local and industry filmmaker show and tells, digital video tips and tricks and user-driven workflows and world premiere announcements of new hardware and software. Also featured is the SuperMeet Digital Showcase with vendors and small developers providing workflow solutions for digital filmmakers and content creators.
