Columbia, MD (PRWEB) June 10, 2011
KBE Building Corporation (KBE) recently made a donation of $1,145.00 to the Frederick Food Bank. According to Tim Keeney, Project Manager for KBE, the company is currently working in Frederick doing renovations at Hood College. “Our company is very committed to supporting the communities in which we work, and we thought a food bank donation would be particularly helpful given the weak economy,” said Keeney.
Indeed, according to Sarah McAleavy, Director of the Frederick Food Bank, KBE’s donation will feed approximately 120 families for a week. “When I came on board four years ago, we were serving about 350 families per month, but now we’re up to 750-800 per month, so the need has significantly increased,” said Ms. McAleavy. The food bank runs primarily on donations. McAleavy added: “without donations such as this, we couldn’t help the people that we help. This money goes a long way.”
