The interactive webinar, entitled “EVMS in Government Contracting: A Practical Approach,” is suited for contractors, consultants, and government personnel who are seeking a practical understanding of the concepts behind earned-value management.

Later this month, L2 Federal Resources will sponsor a webinar to help various professionals in the contracting community understand and implement earned-value management systems (EVMSs).

Michael Nosbisch, managing principal at Western Region of Project Time & Cost Inc., will introduce webinar attendees to the application of EVMSs within government contracting and do so in a practical way that will help drive home some key concepts that often are impediments to effective EVMS implementation. To register for the 90-minute event, scheduled for Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT), visit http://tinyurl.com/3fedezy.

Topics addressed during the webinar will include the following:

  • EVMS defined.
  • Government Contracting 101 -- Who owns the risk?
  • White House Office of Management and Budget requirements and government agency [mis]interpretations.
  • What it really means to be “compliant” with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard.
  • Rolling wave planning -- the key to a realistic PMB.
  • Incentivizing CAMs for success.

The webinar is tailored for those professionals who work for a government contractor that is facing its first EVMS implementation and subsequent validation review, government employees within an agency that is trying to create an EVMS policy for the first time, and professionals attempting to grasp the nuances of an “ANSI-compliant EVMS.”

Nosbisch formerly served as vice president of earned-value management for SM&A and was responsible for managing the consulting firm’s EVM Compliance & Consulting practice. In that capacity, he supported several government contractors within the aerospace and defense industry as well as the engineering, procurement, and construction industry. He has more than 22 years of overall experience in project management, project controls, and contract administration.

Following Mr. Nosbisch’s presentation, there will be an interactive 20-minute question-and-answer session addressing relevant topics.

Webinar tuition is based on location, not number of participants, so each registration site can have multiple participants for one low price. To register, visit http://tinyurl.com/3fedezy.
