Continuing the Company’s Global Expansion

As our business in China and the Asian-Pacific region grows, we are supporting and furthering that growth with greater investment in our local operations - Patrick D. Quirk, president and chief executive officer of Emptoris

Emptoris, Inc., a leading provider of strategic supply, category spend and enterprise contract management solutions, announced today that the company has opened a new China Development Center in Shanghai, building upon its existing Chinese operations and continuing its global operational expansion.

“As our business in China and the Asian-Pacific region grows, we are supporting and furthering that growth with greater investment in our local operations,” said Patrick D. Quirk, president and chief executive officer of Emptoris, Inc. “Emptoris’ business has always been about innovation, and applying innovation to solve the challenges that confront global companies. As our business continues to grow in the region, it makes perfect sense to invest in local innovation and engineering.”

Emptoris established full service offices in Shanghai in 2009, including sales, product development, professional services and customer support staff. In June 2011, the company opened its new China Development Center in the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Pudong, Shanghai, China. The Development Center will provide software development, engineering, translation, support and Quality Assurance (QA) testing services for the local Chinese market, as well as support services for the global development organization.

In addition to its global suite of solutions, Emptoris offers Chinese companies, and global companies with Chinese operations, a suite of strategic supply and contract management solutions designed specifically for the market, including Chinese language, currencies and customer support. Emptoris’ Development operations are headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts and Pune, India, with additional development centers in Minsk, Belarus and Shanghai, China.

“Although Emptoris is the pre-eminent global solution for supply and contract management with a proven track record at the world's leading companies, we are taking nothing for granted in the Chinese market. In addition to providing a dedicated suite of solutions designed for Chinese companies and operations, we are also investing, developing and innovating locally. The engineering talent in Shanghai is world-class and we want to access that talent,” said William Li, general manager and group vice president, China for Emptoris, Inc.

More than one third of Global 1000 companies rely on Emptoris solutions – from spend analysis, sourcing, and contract management, to supplier lifecycle management, telecom expense management and services procurement – to maximize financial performance and manage commercial risk.

Kathryn Begley, vice president of research and development at Emptoris and a former Oracle executive, leads the Emptoris development team, driving innovation and expansion of the company's award-winning solutions. The China Development Center will be led by Victor Fong, a senior manager who will be relocating from Burlington to Shanghai. Patrick Quirk, William Li, Victor Fong and other Emptoris executives were on hand in Shanghai on June 9th for the official opening of the development center.

Emptoris is actively seeking professionals to apply for positions with Emptoris China and specifically experienced interested developers and engineers candidates should contact careers(at)emptoris(dot)com.
