Global friend finder site, Who-Remembers-Me.com recently underwent a website refresh, dedicated to making the user experience quicker and more enjoyable to use. With an extra 9 million members in only the last 6 months and an overall database now exceeding 35 million members, their services are enabling more people than ever to find old friends and relatives.
Who-Remembers-Me provides a world-wide search engine service that allows people to reconnect from all walks of life, across the globe. With members in over 200 countries and an ever increasing volume of registrants, the success stories are proving inspirational.
Unlike other sites, Who-Remembers-Me hosts a whole range of search-engine categories, with 17 in total, operating on a global network. Called ‘attendances’, these search facilities enable you to look for people according to their street name, place of worship, children’s home, club, band or favourite bar to mention only a few, anywhere in the world. The attendance search function is unique as it enables you to find people from your past even if you can’t remember their name!
To coincide with their front end website refresh, after record numbers of membership registrations Who-Remembers-Me have implemented an improved back-end search function, allowing people to retrieve these establishments in real-time.
The overall update has seen them work to improve the user experience, so they have added social media functions to the site. Members can now ‘like’, ‘share’ and ‘tweet’ their latest attendance, improving their likelihood of reuniting with old acquaintances.
As the UK based company plans to launch numerous exciting email campaigns, making use of the in-house capabilities of sister company - WRM-Media to both new and historical members of the friend-finder site, they foresee an uptake of participation from members wanting to share their success stories.
Director, Paul Kemshell explained, ‘Now that we have refreshed the site, we are keen to receive even more interaction from members who have managed to find one another. We publish all of our stories on the website and each month, our ‘star story’ receives a magnum of Champagne or a luxury food hamper so it really is worthwhile!’
One of Who-Remembers-Me’s most incredible stories was that of Les Parr and Bev Brittain who, after almost 40 years of being apart, were reunited through the site and married in Adelaide, Australia on Valentine’s Day of last year where they brought their families back together for a long overdue reunion.
The site have heard from ex-army couples stationed with the British army who were reunited after more than 30 years apart, Philippine cousins who found each other after almost 45 years, South Africa’s oldest school friends who managed to trace one another and many other inspiring success stories.
With a global database of 35 million members, there is every chance of discovering someone from your past!
