Home builder Dominion Homes has developed an innovative mobile site for their entry into the 2011 BIA Parade of Homes, which will allow visitors to tour the home room by room and get details of the décor, finishes, fixtures and more, right from their mobile phones.
The Dominion Parade home, the Newburgh B, was decorated with a “modern family” theme. The new home, which has been sold, was decorated by interior decorator Nanci Glenn and is bright and cheery, yet cozy and livable. Reflecting how the modern family interacts with the world today, Dominion wanted to integrate smartphone and QR technology into the Parade experience.
“We know there’s a lot to take in when visiting a home in the BIA Parade of Homes,” said Sherrye McCabe, Web Marketing Manager from Dominion Homes. “This allows visitors to re-visit each room of our home virtually and get answers to their questions right on their phone. People may love the colors in a particular room or a piece of furniture – and this gives them a quick way to learn more about them.”
Dominion Homes’ mobile site will have information about paint colors, fabric, furniture, finishes and fixtures throughout the interior and exterior of the home. Visitors can access the site through QR codes located on the Dominion Homes’ ad in the Parade plan book and a brochure available at the Parade house. Visitors to the mobile site during the Parade will also have the chance to enter to win a KitchenAid® stand mixer.
"We know that many attendees to the BIA Parade of Homes come to gather ideas that they can take and incorporate into their own homes," said Jim Hilz, Executive Director of the BIA of Central Ohio. "Having detailed information at their fingertips will be a great enhancement at this year's event, and we're glad that Dominion is offering this pioneering new technology."
Dominion Homes partnered with MindsOn Marketing and photographer John Evans to create the mobile site and plans to use this mobile technology for future model homes. The site will be accessible from computers starting June 11 at http://thenewburgh.dominionhomes.com.
The BIA Parade of Homes runs from June 11-June 26 at Olentangy Falls, located in the desirable Liberty Township area of Delaware, Ohio.
