Collingswood, NJ (PRWEB) June 10, 2011
Brian McIntyre, president of WorkStrategy, Inc., and his family awarded four scholarships totaling $20,000 at the Collingswood High School Academic Awards Banquet on May 26th, 2011. A former student and resident of Collingswood, New Jersey, Brian started the scholarship program in 2000 and contributed over $280,000 in funds to date. The program was renamed in 2004 to the George F. and Joan D. McIntyre Scholarship Fund in honor of his parents, both of whom had been intimately involved with local charities and educational programs.
The 2011 award recipients were Junelle Bundalian, Louis Cappelli, Amelia Chen, and Fucheng Zou. Winners were chosen based on academic proficiency, extra-curricular activities, and desire to major in the field of science or technology.
“The students at Collingswood High School have been positively enriched by the generosity of Brian and the McIntyre family. Anyone with the least degree of perception could see how enthralled they were and how deeply the scholarship awards affected them,” stated Edward Hill, Collingswood High School’s Principal.
“We look forward to this event each year and hope our contributions help them realize their educational objectives and longer-term career goals, especially during the current economic environment,” said Mr. McIntyre, now a resident of Ellicott City, Maryland. He added, “Each year we are amazed at their individual accomplishments and support of the Collingswood community as a whole.”
Mr. Hill added, “I think that many of the recipients will not fully comprehend the gift that was given to them until the day they realize how Brian’s family has impacted their lives. For their commitment to education and the students of Collingswood High School, we thank Brian and the McIntyre family.”
