For the sixth year in a row, the Birmingham Business Journal has recognized Alacare Home Health & Hospice as a Top 10 Best Places to Work in the 150+ Employee Category, and has also been named one of the Best Companies to Work for in Alabama by Alabama Business Magazine.
The BBJ’s Best Place to Work list is selected based on results of a confidential employee survey conducted by Quantum Workplace. The annual list recognizes the top 10 companies to work for in each size category: Small Companies – less than 50 employees; Midsized Companies – 50-250 employees, and Large Companies: 250 or more employees.
When the BBJ asked why Alacare was such a great place to work, employees responded, “The universal level of dedication and compassionate care is what makes Alacare a great place to work. The Alacare Home Health & Hospice staff provides care and support to each other as well as to our patients.”
To build a successful work environment, management strives to ease the burdens of its employees. Over the years, Alacare has invested in a range of helpful tools to free up Alacare’s staff to spend more time with their patients. It has purchased electronic health record systems, equipped field workers with personal digital assistants and acquired sophisticated medical equipment. Most recently, that has included a device that allows Alacare nurses to check oxygen saturation on site.
“We’re constantly investing in the latest technologies and discovering new ways to assist our caregivers in the home,” said President John Beard. “Our employees are our greatest asset and deserve all the tools that are vital to make their jobs easier every day.
