The Conference was a tremendous opportunity to share with fellow finance industry members, techniques and proven solutions to greatly enhance and streamline last mile of finance activities in a shared services environment.

The Record to Report Process, also known as the Last Mile of Finance, is a loosely coupled set of activities which take a corporation from the transactional processes at entity/ business unit level to a consolidated set of financial statements accompanied with descriptive information reflecting the performance of the organization. Shared Service Centers have an opportunity to transform the record to report process into a seamless end to end process utilizing focused process enabling technologies.

The Record to Report process is ripe for continuous improvement in the Shared Services environment with the outcomes of an agile and scalable process to manage the organizations needs in a rapidly changing environment. This session focused upon:

  •     Shedding light on the loosely coupled Record to Report Process known as the Last Mile of Finance
  •     Identified Quick wins for the Shared Service Center
  •     Outlined a roadmap for continuous improvement
