What Collaboration Should Be: Wireless Sharing on Any Device

REV, in partnership with Vitra, today introduced AirShare, a wireless collaboration appliance that automatically allows teams to quickly and wirelessly share ideas between each other’s devices, including laptops, tablets, and mobile telephones. The announcement was made today at NeoCon 2011, North America’s largest design exposition and conference for commercial interiors, at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, Illinois.

“AirShare cuts the cord for collaboration,” said Jeff Gunther, REV’s CEO. “Today’s teams need more than just furniture and conference rooms. They need spaces equipped with wireless technology that allows for easy digital collaboration between team members.”

AirShare’s simple and innovative design provides for effortless digital sharing in boardrooms, meeting rooms, classrooms, or ad-hoc workspaces. The appliance features a single piece of hardware with a compact design that can easily be hidden away. Simply plug it in, and then easily set up automatic wireless streaming for any device on your network.

The appliance includes a built-in combination HDMI and digital audio connector allowing users to connect to a large display or digital projector. AirShare enabled devices automatically detect remote displays and then wirelessly stream content to the AirShare appliance with just a few quick clicks. Multiple AirShare appliances can be set up in a space, each connected to a display for an immersive shared experience.

“Our partnership with Vitra is a testament to the trend we see in the industry – sophisticated furniture companies embracing technology driven solutions,” said Gunther. “Our goal is to change how teams collaborate in a digital world. Our venture with Vitra will enable us to do that.”

AirShare will be available in late 2011 in North America. AirShare will be sold in the US through the AirShare website (http://www.airshareit.com), REV’s retail locations and Vitra (http://www.vitra.com). International availability will be announced at a later date.
