New York, NY (PRWEB) June 13, 2011
RFID Journal announced today that registration is now open for RFID in Energy (http://www.rfidjournalevents.com/energy), its inaugural conference and exhibition focused on the impact that radio frequency identification technology is having within the energy sector. Presented in partnership with the Oil & Gas RFID Solution Group, this event will be held on Sept. 20, 2011, at the Sheraton North Houston Hotel, in Houston, Texas.
"Major energy companies and service providers are using RFID to track assets, equipment, spare parts, worker safety and much more," said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "We're launching this event so companies in this sector can hear directly from those using the technology, and learn about the benefits that the technology can deliver."
Sessions will review a variety of application areas, such as laydown yards, production facilities, service centers, oil rigs, refineries, pipelines and more. Speakers will focus on end-user case studies and the benefits that RFID could provide to utility companies, as well as chemical, gas and oil firms, and explore the challenges that must be overcome to achieve such benefits.
Attendees will hear how companies are utilizing RFID to track natural gas consumption and business assets, as well as enforce regulatory standards. Additionally, the speakers will share how the technology can be deployed to service and support oil-field assets across supply chains, and to improve employee monitoring and safety.
RFID in Energy is the one event where attendees can learn how to put RFID to work to cut costs, improve safety and track assets in the energy sector.
